Free Thanksgiving Bookmarks for Kids to Color
I’m totally game for easy ways to get kids excited about books, especially over the holidays. These free Thanksgiving bookmarks you can print and color are perfect for that. Just think about it—you can print out a stack for everyone in the family or even hand them to kids at your next group activity or homeschool meetup.
Grab your colored pencils, markers, or whatever coloring supplies you have. Printing these bookmarks is simple and you can make as many copies as you like. I love that they give kids a chance to show off their creativity and bring a little Thanksgiving spirit to their reading time. Plus, if you’re anything like me, you’ll want to color a few yourself!

My kids love celebrating Thanksgiving every November! They’re all about enjoying a big feast for dinner (and all the leftovers afterwards) and spending time with family. I’ve heard some people watch football on Thanksgiving, but…we’re not really big football fans.
Even though there really isn’t much time during Thanksgiving day for reading, there’s plenty of time to cozy up with a good book in the days leading up to the big day!
Now that my kids are in middle school, I don’t read to them every night like I did when they were little. That means they need bookmarks more often since they’re reading on their own these days. Fun bookmarks can make their reading time a bit more special, especially during Thanksgiving.
To make fall reading even better, I put together a set of Thanksgiving coloring bookmarks you can print at home. These are a simple way to get kids excited about picking up their books—and they’re totally free!

The bookmarks as a PDF with 2 pages of bookmarks, each page with a total of 4 bookmarks.
Within the PDF, you’ll find bookmarks with the following themes:
- “Gobbling up books one page at a time!” with an adorable turkey reading a book
- “Thankful” with fall leaves in the background
- “Grateful” with fall leaves & pumpkins in the background
- “Happy Thanksgiving” with pumpkins in the background
- “Thanksgiving is my jam!” with a jar of jam
- harvest produce with leaves
- “I’m thankful for great books!” with a stack of books & leaves
- “Feast on a great book!” with a Thanksgiving turkey dinner and a pie

To get the most out of the Thanksgiving bookmarks, here’s some tips:
- print at home: we bought our Epson Eco-Tank a few years ago and it’s an absolute workhorse of a printer. The ink lasts an amazingly long time! It definitely one of my favorite homeschooling items.
- print on cardstock: while standard printer paper would work just fine, if you print on cardstock, the bookmarks will be sturdy & likely last longer!
- laminate for extra durability: to help the bookmarks last even longer, consider laminating them after the kids have colored in the designs. Since many laminators use a heat process, I also suggest avoiding coloring the bookmarks with crayons &, instead, using colored pencils or markers.
