Printable Christmas Coloring Bookmarks for Kids (free PDF!)
I love finding simple ways to get kids interested in books, especially around the holidays. These printable Christmas coloring bookmarks offer just the right touch of fun. You can print a bunch for your own kids or pass them out at your next homeschool co-op get together or Christmas gathering. They’re a hit with families, and they’re such an easy way to add a little holiday cheer to reading time. Grab a few colored pencils or markers, and you’re good to go. You might even want to set out a pile at your next party and watch everyone of all ages get involved.
Printing these bookmarks couldn’t be easier, and you can run off as many as you want. I really enjoy seeing how kids add their own twist and bring some Christmas cheer to their books. Honestly, I have just as much fun grabbing a few and coloring them myself. If you like getting creative, you’ll probably want to join in, too!

Christmas is one of our absolute favorite winter holidays! My oldest son absolutely loves to decorate the house (inside & out) and my youngest…well, he loves to write his Christmas list!
Even though the Christmas season is usually pretty busy, what with visiting family & attending local events, there’s really no better time to read a book! Just think about it – I know Christmas can get hectic for me, but reading a book totally calms me down. It’s a nice, quiet break that’s often needed!
Now that my kids are in middle school, our old tradition of bedtime stories has faded. These days, they read on their own, so bookmarks have turned into an everyday need. I’ve found that adding something fun, like themed bookmarks, gives their reading time a little extra joy—especially at Christmas.

To make reading in December even more fun, I made a pack of Christmas coloring bookmarks you can print at home. They’re a quick way to bring some festive cheer to any book. Bonus, they’re free and easy to use. Kids love picking out a new bookmark, and it gives them another reason to reach for their next chapter.
The bookmarks come as a PDF with 2 pages of bookmarks, each page with a total of 4 bookmarks.
Within the PDF, you’ll find bookmarks with the following themes:
- “Reading is a JOLLY good time!” with Santa in the background
- “It’s SNOW SECRET I love reading” with a snowman reading a book in the background
- “Merry Christmas” with trees in the background
- “Jingle all the way to the next page!” with wrapped gifts in the background
- a gingerbread house & gingerbread people scene
- “Oh deer…just one more page!” with a reindeer & snowflakes in the background
- “Tis the season for READING” with a stack of books & Christmas lights
- “One Smart Cookie!” with Christmas cookies

To get the most out of the Christmas bookmarks, here are some tips:
- print at home: we bought our Epson Eco-Tank a few years ago and it’s an absolute workhorse of a printer. The ink lasts an amazingly long time! It definitely one of my favorite homeschooling items.
- print on cardstock: while standard printer paper would work just fine, if you print on cardstock, the Christmas bookmarks will be sturdy & likely last longer!
- laminate for extra durability: to help the bookmarks last even longer, consider laminating them after the kids have colored in the designs. Since many laminators use a heat process, I also suggest avoiding coloring the bookmarks with crayons &, instead, using colored pencils or markers.
