We’re always on the lookout for quality family fun on a budget and the Kids Bowl Free summer program definitely fits the bill!
As much as some people enjoy the higher temperatures of summer, my family is more of a “mild weather family.” We’re good with temps until about 85 degrees but, past that…we’re melting.
We can certainly handle days at the beach or riding roller coasters at a theme park (I guarantee we will complain a little about the heat, though!), but we definitely thrive in cooler temps. Our love/need for mild temps makes bowling a perfect sport for our family.

My boys have participated in bowling leagues at local bowling centers and have loved it! In the summer, though, most of the leagues pause to allow families to enjoy vacations in such. Though, with the Kids Bowl Free program, we’re all able to enjoy a whole summer of bowling!
You might even consider asking some of your homeschool friends to join you for some bowling fun, too! #themorethemerrier

Kids Bowl Free Details
As a busy parent, time is valuable. I get it! Let’s get straight to the point with the details of the Kids Bowl Free program.
Who
The Kids Bowl Free summer program is generally open to kids between the ages of 2 and 18. Please check the details of your specific bowling center, though, as age minimums and limitations may vary.
What
After signing up for the program, kids can get 2 free games of bowling, at your selected bowling center, each day throughout the entire summer!

When
Kids Bowl Free all summer long!
Where
Available at multiple bowling center locations across the United States and Canada as well as military bases across the world!
How
Sign up for the Kids Bowl Free program here! After signing up, you’ll even have the option to purchase a special summer-long bowling pass for the adults in your family.
To use your daily free bowling passes, you can either print passes out from your Kids Bowl Free account or use digital passes after signing into the Kids Bowl Free app available from the Apple Store and Google Play.

What about Bowling Shoes?
Your local bowling center may or may not offer specials when renting bowling shoes. Some may charge their typical usage fee while others may have special offers for the summer.
Our particular bowling center is not offering any specials on bowling shoe rentals. At $3.99 per person, per day for bowling shoes…that could result in a very expensive summer. My kids would be thrilled to bowl every day so figure renting 2 pairs of bowling shoes each day, Monday-Friday, would end up costing about $40/week. Ouch.
If you’re planning on using the Kids Bowl Free summer pass more often than not, you might consider getting bowling shoes for attending members of your family.
If you’re open to secondhand options, consider looking through resale pages on social media or even asking your local Buy Nothing Group if they have bowling shoes that are no longer needed.
I ended up ordering bowling shoes from Amazon, so that’s always an option, too.
Have fun bowling with the family this summer!
Until next time, stay safe and enjoy quality time with your family,
