Why Include Homeschool Planet?
Homeschool Planet offers so many free online tools for homeschool parents that deciding to include Homeschool Planet in your homeschool days is really a no-brainer. Their tools are easily accessible on their website and, honestly, can make a world of difference in the day-to-day lives of homeschoolers.
The Free Homeschool ID Card
You know how many businesses offer special discounts to brick-and-mortar teachers, right? Well, you know that many of those discounts are also available to homeschool parents too, right? Yep, they certainly are!
The catch? Many of the businesses require some sort of educator identification because, y’know, they’re not just going to hand out discounts to everyone. While brick-and-mortar teachers have the benefit of being issued school IDs, homeschool parents aren’t provided with any sort of ID cards after registering their children with their state.
The solution?
Well, there are a couple. Homeschool parents can either take the reigns and spend a bunch of time designing their own ID card, start to finish, using some sort of online program that they likely have to pay for in advance.
Or. OR…they could just head on over to Homeschool Planet and make their own homeschool ID card, for free, in a matter of minutes.
Seriously. Homeschool Planet offers multiple homeschool id card designs to choose from and you can make both teacher and student homeschool ID cards in minutes. Just select a design, upload a photo, fill out the info, print, laminate, repeat.
If you don’t have a home printer, Homeschool Planet even offers an option to have a plastic version of the homeschool id card shipped directly to your home for a small fee.
Either way, there’s really no reason to pay for a homeschool id card to be customized when Homeschool Planet offers it for free.
Once the card is created, you’ll be well on your way to taking advantage of educator pricing at museums, attractions, various stores, and more! Go ahead and make your own homeschool ID card right now – this article will be here for you to finish reading when you’re done.
The Free High School Blueprint
You guys, our oldest is officially starting the high school years this year. While we don’t think he’ll end up attending college after graduation (we’re Team Trade & entrepreneurship over here), we really have no idea what the future holds for him. For that reason, and a few others, I want to do what I can to set him up for success…no matter his decision.
One way I can help my high schooler (eek! wasn’t he just born yesterday?!) is by making sure he meets the state requirements for high school graduation…and Homeschool Planet’s new High School Blueprint tool is helping me do just this.
The High School Blueprint is a free (!!!) digital planning tool that maps out all four years of high school in one place. Like the homeschool ID card, it took me just a minute or two to make a blueprint for my son. So easy!
Once on the website, I selected our state, entered my son’s name and graduation year, pressed “generate plan” and his next four years of homeschooling high school was provided within seconds. Not only was it super easy, but it has also taken a load off my (anxiety-ridden) shoulders because I now have a very clear 4-year plan to help keep us organized!
I’m telling you, this High School Blueprint is gold for homeschool parents! Go give it a try – I’ll wait.

The Online Homeschool Planner
It used to happen every year without fail. The new school supplies would grace the shelves of the big box stores mid-summer and I’d “ooh” and “ahh” over all the pretty colors and all the gorgeous prints of the premium notebooks. I’d be admiring boxes of brand new crayons with their perfect never-been-used-before points before finally landing on the “must-have” teaching & learning tool – a planner.
So many planners with various binding options, laminated covers, tabbed sections. and perhaps a bonus set of organizing stickers or two. After spending what seemed like forever weighing all the options, I’d finally select “the” planner.
That worked wonderfully in the 90s (yes, I’ve loved school supplies since I was a child), and even into the early 2000s, but after that? Well, I’m sure you’ve had the same experiences I have. That planner would be used for a week or two (maybe) only to end up in some junk drawer. What started with wonderful intentions would end up being tossed aside for any number of reasons.
Since I started homeschooling, though, paper planners would go unused for one main reason – they weren’t easily accessible. Between appointments, events at our local libraries, road trips, co-op, and our regular lessons, I have a lot to keep track of and I just cannot keep track of everything in my head.
Trust me, I’ve tried. It did not go well.
I need my homeschool planner to be accessible wherever I am, no matter which purse I’m using (can you believe I used to limit myself to huge purses because I’d have to haul a paper planner? ugh) because life is happening & plans are made all day long.

Homeschool Planet’s homeschool planner checks all the boxes and then some. Their online planner keep everything organized in one place, allowing me to access & create:
- personalized reports
- transcripts
- report cards
- appointments
- lesson plans
…and more in literally minutes. I can even have daily “to-do” lists printed out or emailed to my kids! My favorite part, though? The lesson plans.
I’ve said it again and again – I’m not a fan of writing lesson plans. They take away precious time I should be spending with my family and take more time to write than I’d spend teaching. Ew.
With Homeschool Planet’s homeschool planner, I can set up an entire year in minutes (are you sensing a theme? minutes?! I swear – this platform is amazing). They currently have over 3,100 lesson plans for popular homeschool curricula available with new options being added every month.
Yep, just click a few buttons and consider your yearly homeschool planning to be done!
And, since this planner is all online, give yourself a pat on the back – you just freed up a bunch of space in your junk drawer because you won’t be making the mistake of buying a paper planner in the future. Go you!
While the full homeschool planner is a paid service, Homeschool Planet does offer a very generous free 30-day trial so you can try everything out before getting the membership.
